The NMOS competition, organized by NUSH (National University of Singapore High School of Math and Science), is confirmed to take place on July 14 this year. Time is running out for students to prepare! With limited time remaining, it’s essential to move away from ineffective “drill-and-practice” methods and focus on a systematic and efficient preparation guide.

To provide the best support for P5 families, Think Academy proudly presents the 2026 upgraded edition of “NMOS All-in-One Guide, now available for free to all students preparing for the competition!

Why is the “NMOS All-in-One Guide” a Must-Have for Students?

1.Upgraded Feature: No More Scanning QR Codes to Download Challenge Practice PDFs!

Last year, many parents shared their feedback that the Challenge Practice section required scanning a QR code to download PDFs, which could distract students. This year, we’ve made a change! All Challenge Practice questions are now fully printed in the book. Just open it and start practicing—seamless and uninterrupted learning!

2.Targeted Practice: Focus Only on the 30 Essential Core Topics

Our academic research team conducted an in-depth analysis of NMOS past papers from 2008 to 2025 and identified the 30 most frequently tested topics. With the high recurrence of question types in NMOS, mastering these 30 core topics can greatly boost your chances of securing an award!

Comprehensive Coverage of Key Topics: Includes topics like Area Transformation, Fractions and Percentages, Inclusion-Exclusion Principle, Number Puzzles, and more… covering 400+ core concepts!

3.A Lifesaver for Parents: Every Difficult Problem Comes with a Detailed Video Explanation

What if your child struggles with a challenging question? No need for you to step in and tutor! Each challenge question is accompanied by a QR code—simply scan it to access a professional Olympiad coach’s video explanation. With step-by-step guidance and tips, your child can easily understand and master the problem on their own.

4.Scientific Learning Cycle: Our Unique “Five-Step Learning Method”

From Knowledge Review ➡️ Past Paper Practice ➡️ Step-by-Step Guidance ➡️ Reinforcement Exercises ➡️ Advanced Challenges, this progressive approach ensures that your child not only “solves this question correctly” but also “masters this type of question.”

For example, let’s take Topic 1: Fraction Calculation-Cancellation:

Step 1: Knowledge Review

In the first phase of the topic, we systematically organize efficient problem-solving techniques for fraction operations and highlight the frequently tested concepts in NMOS competitions. Through a three-dimensional analytical framework of key concepts, formula derivations, and solution strategies, we help students clearly understand the core content of the chapter and gradually build a comprehensive knowledge structure.

Step 2: Past Paper Practice

In the second phase, we carefully select and provide in-depth analysis of NMOS past exam questions. By reverse-engineering the logic behind typical questions, we clearly demonstrate how specific knowledge modules are applied in the competition context.

The course adopts a “Problem-Oriented → Strategy Construction → Method Transfer” teaching cycle. Through multi-dimensional step-by-step breakdowns and thought-modeling processes, it systematically showcases the complete reasoning chain from basic applications to advanced extensions. This approach helps students master transferable problem-solving techniques and develop independent application skills within real competition contexts.

Step 3: Step-by-Step Guidance

In the Guided Practice section, we select a representative example and present it in a “fill-in-the-blank” style. This approach encourages students to apply the knowledge and methods they have just learned, flexibly transferring them to solve new problems.

For similar concepts and solutions, students are encouraged to write out the key steps themselves. This not only deepens their understanding but also helps them transition from simply “learning methods” to “confidently applying them to solve problems,” effectively enhancing their problem-solving skills!

Step 4: Reinforcement Practice

In the fourth section, we provide students with a complete question without any solution, encouraging them to solve it independently. This exercise is designed to help students apply the knowledge and problem-solving strategies they’ve learned in a self-assessment.

The final answer is provided at the end of the book for students to cross-check their work. We hope they can continue improving through practice and build confidence in the process!

Step 5: Advanced Challenges

In the final section, we’ve included specially designed challenge questions for students aiming for gold medals or aspiring to join the IMSO national team. To minimize score deductions within 10 points in the NMOS exam, students need to dedicate extra effort to tackling high-difficulty problems.

For those targeting gold medals or higher, these challenge questions are an essential focus. We’re confident that they will provide substantial support to help students achieve their breakthrough! 💪✨

In summary, the goal of this book is to help students solidify foundational knowledge, master core problem-solving methods, and develop the ability to apply knowledge flexibly. This ensures comprehensive preparation for the NMOS exam and the confidence to tackle its challenges successfully.

The updated version raises the difficulty level further, aiming to provide stronger support for students striving for gold medals or even aiming to join the IMSO national team.

We hope students make full use of this book to refine their thinking and achieve outstanding results in the NMOS competition.
