How Think Academy achieved 72 Gold Medals in SASMO 2023

The SASMO results was released on the SIMCC website on 9 March 2023. If you have participated in this SASMO exam, you can check your results here. 

This year, Think Academy is proud to share in our students’ wonderful achievement in the SASMO. Together, we have clinched 72 Gold Medals in total for Primary 1 – Primary 4.

What is SASMO?

SASMO is one of the top local Math Competition in Singapore that you can participate as a private or school candidate. This competition is open to students from Primary 1 all the way to Primary 6. Each grade level has a differentiated paper containing 25 questions split into 2 sections. For more information about why you should join Math Olympiad, check out our blog post here.

How did we prepare our students?

Here at Think Academy Singapore, we take a holistic approach in preparing our students for any exams or competitions. This requires an in-depth understanding of topics being tested as well as time-efficient techniques to solve these problems. Not only do teachers analyse these questions, they also prepare lessons and activities to help that students to master and remember the skills tested in SASMO.

The game plan that helped 72 students attained gold medal

Since SASMO focuses on non-routine problem sums that does not appear any where in your local school papers, both students with little/no prior experience and those with SASMO experience will require a detailed learning plan and training suitable for their current level.

To get an idea of how intensive and holistic our preparation plan is, students undergo a two-month process starting from exposure to common question types all the way to mock tests and feedback.

A seemingly simple plan? Not without our dedicated team of teachers to support our students.

Our teaching team is made up of experienced Math Olympians and even a top Math Olympiad Question Setter.
