2024 SMOPS Results
The 2024 APMOPS Round 1 results are out!
Congratulations to all Think Academy’s students for their outstanding achievements at the 2024 SMOPS. This year, we have helped 7 students to achieve Platinum and 6 students achieve Gold medals.
We are so proud of how far you have come and how much you have achieved. We know that you will continue to achieve great things!
What can you do with your SMOPS results?
The SMOPS or APMOPS, also known as the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools (APMOPS), is hosted by Hwa Chong Institute, to generate interest and sharpen students’ mathematical skills. More importantly, the results that students obtained from the SMOPS/APMOPS are highly valued and regarded in one’s Direct School Application (DSA). A platinum or gold medal will give students a leg up in their DSA application to schools like Raffles Institution, Hwa Chong Institution and NUS High School of Math and Science.
Additionally, the top 50 students from the APMOPS Round 1 are invited to the APMOPS Invitational Round with attractive cash prizes and medals to be won.
If you have participated in this year’s APMOPS and are looking to retrieve your APMOPS results and certificate, you may also log in using your competition details provided previously by Hwa Chong (https://apmops.hci.hk.cn/login).
Did you know? Up to 50%-60% of topics tested in RMO are also tested in SMOPS/APMOPS.
However, performing well in one of the competitions does not guarantee a good performance for the other. Check out our other article on our in-depth analysis of the SMOPS.
So how did we help these students achieve their best in 2024 SMOPS?
After analysing more than 10,000 Math Olympiad questions from the top Singapore Math Olympiads (NMOS, RMO and APMOPS), we have created a systematic learning framework designed to help students develop a strong math olympiad foundation and creative problem-solving skills. Lessons will also cover the math theories and concepts required through a discovery-first approach. Students are guided in a time of understanding and exploring key concepts and principles before applying what they have learnt.
Through consistent practice and building of strong foundations, parents will see a change in students’ thinking process. Not only are they able to apply concepts accurately, but at the highest level, they will be able to combine and apply multiple concepts that they have learnt previously to solve complex math problems.
