18 NMOS Gold Produced in 2023
The NMOS competition, organised by the NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, has released its results on 24 August 2023.
If your child has participated in this year’s NMOS competition, do check in with your school teacher on your child’s results directly.
NMOS is a competition that requires your child register through the school. However, due to its difficulty level (read more), schools usually send students from P5. That’s not to say that outstanding P4 students do not have a chance to participate, as participation is based on individual school’s selection.
Scores and Awards for NMOS
So how exactly are students’ scores calculated in the NMOS?
The NMOS exam is held in two parts: Preliminary Round and Special Round (usually held a month apart). Top scorers (~7%) from the Preliminary Round will be invited to take the Special Round Paper.
Preliminary and Special Round Scores are combined and the top 30 participants will be awarded based on their combined scores. Out of these, top 20 students will be shortlisted to join the IMSO training team.
In recent years, they have also introduced a new category for girls. Likewise, top 30 female participants are also calculated based on their combined scores.
No ranking will be provided unless your child is ranked as one of the top 3.
2023 Outstanding NMOS results from Think Academy
